One day, Nai’o was roaming his family’s ranch, taking care of all the pekis and ormuus and trufflets, making sure all of their needs were met, and they were happy and producing. Little did he know, he had a smelly little friend following him everywhere he went. At some points he’d notice a soft little trilling noise, and he’d turn around, sure he’d figure out who it was, but no one was ever there. This happened throughout the day as he went about, doing his chores, making deliveries, helping out. He’d even hear it when he made his trips to the elderwood, which would always freak him out. It didn’t help that Auni always brought up the elderwood beast, and how it would hunt it’s prey, or any other horror stories his little brother would hear at bug scouts. Nai’o got so scared, he started to not want to leave his home. One day, he got so fed up, he marched out, right into the center of his family’s farm, and yelled out for the area to hear. “Stop stalking me from the shadows, and face me, whoever or whatever you are! I am here, and I’m ready!” He hollered out giving off false confidence. As the air around him silenced, he could hear a nearby bush rustle. He held his breath, quiet as can be, anticipating what would come out of that bush. Suddenly, out popped a chappa! And it scurried along, running away from him, and furiously burrowing into the ground. Nai’o let out a deep sigh of relief, feeling like everything is all good. What he didn’t expect, was a cold, slimy blob, pressing against his ankle. Nai’o jumped so high in the air, he could’ve jumped over Einar, and he ran fast to his family home, screaming for his ma and pa. As he rushed inside their family home, they tried to see what was wrong, but he couldn’t speak, only pointing towards the door. Every one waited with anxiety, wondering what horrific beast may burst through that door. It took awhile, but suddenly, a small, cute, white little Goobi came slugging in, making that cute adorable little trilling noise. “Oh son, it’s just our new little farm friend, the Goobi!” Laughed Delaliah, as Badruu patted Nai’o’s back, laughing as he tried to calm his own nerves. “Aw, poor little guy! I reccorn that he’s just a bit hungry! Let’s give him some corn on the cob, I heard the little fellas loved that stuff!” Laughed Badruu, as he went to feed the little Goobi a corn on the cob. And thus, Nai’o’s little mistake was talked around all over town, and every one brought their little Goobi friends to go see Badruu for some corn in the cob, and to giggle with them about this story.
