The campfire crackled, casting dancing shadows on Hassian’s face as he drifted into sleep. But his rest was far from peaceful. He found himself in a field, the tall grass swaying gently in the breeze. It seemed serene until he heard the telltale “mrrrp” sound. He turned and saw them – hundreds of Chaapas, their eyes glowing red, surrounding him. They weren’t the cute, fluffy creatures he knew. These were monstrous, their teeth bared, their claws extended. They advanced, their “mrrrp” growing into a deafening roar. He tried to run, but his feet were rooted to the spot. The Chaapas lunged, their sharp claws tearing at his clothes. He screamed, but no sound came out. Suddenly, he was back in his hunting lodge, safe and sound. But as he looked around, he noticed something was off. The walls were lined with Chaapa pelts, their lifeless eyes staring at him. He reached out to touch one, and it sprang to life, biting his finger. He recoiled in horror, realizing the entire lodge was made of Chaapas, their soft fur pressing against him, their “mrrrp” echoing in his ears. Hassian jolted awake, his body drenched in sweat. The fire had died down, and the forest was silent. He sat up, his heart still racing, and stared into the darkness, half-expecting to see glowing red eyes staring back at him. It was just a dream, he told himself, but the fear lingered, a reminder of his deepest, darkest dread. He decided then and there to spend the rest of the night awake, sharpening arrows and reinforcing his hunting traps, anything to keep the Chaapa nightmare at bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
