It all began on a sunny morning in the countryside. My cows, usually brown and calm, were grazing near the old white jug I used for water. I had gone to town for a while, and when I came back, I noticed something strange: the jug was tipped over, and the cows… were glowing. At first, I thought the sunlight was playing tricks on me, but no —their spots had vanished. They were completely white! As white as soap bubbles. My heart started racing as I got closer, and what I discovered left me speechless: the jug wasn’t the one for water… it was the one for Clorox. I panicked. I ran to call the town’s veterinarian, old Aurelio, who arrived in his truck as fast as he could. He examined the cows with a serious face, then burst out laughing loud enough to echo through the hills. —“Well, son, they look ready for a detergent commercial.” Thankfully, they hadn’t drunk much —just enough for the chemical to bleach their coats. The cows were healthy, though they smelled like a freshly opened laundry. Since that day, the whole town calls me “the bleached cattle guy.” Today, my cows are still the most famous in the region. Kids come to see them, tourists take photos, and even the mayor proposed a festival called “The White Milker.” I just smile and make sure to label my jugs properly. Because if I learned anything from all this, it’s that the countryside doesn’t need miracles… just good labeling.
